Summit Partner Spotlight: Solimar Systems

The second FuturePrint Virtual Summit will be taking place from October 12th to October 16th. Solimar Systems is a FuturePrint Virtual Summit Content Partner, and we caught up with the team to discuss why they’re returning to the Virtual Summit, what they have in store for Summit attendees, and the company’s focus for the future.

Why has your business made the decision to participate in the second FuturePrint Virtual Summit?

Following the success of the first event in June, committing to the next FuturePrint Virtual Summit was a no-brainer. Not only does FuturePrint provide a dedicated platform for both timely and topical discussion and interviews, being a part of these events, for us, also provides an opportunity to support the print community as it evolves and negotiates a new industry landscape in these unprecedented times. We are also looking forward to keeping connected with industry peers through the fantastic networking opportunities this event provides.

Who will be representing you at the FuturePrint Virtual Summit and what is their responsibility and experience?

Jonathan Malone-McGrew, Senior Director of Engagement - responsible for delivering world-class marketing communications and managing customer engagement at Solimar Systems. Jonathan’s print industry career to date has equipped him with a vast knowledge of customer experience, partner and channel enablement, customer service and brand image, working day-to-day with the wider Solimar team to achieve a superior brand experience for clients and, in turn, customers.

Mary Ann Rowan, Chief Experience Officer (CXO) – has been leading the charge in changing the way Solimar does business globally since 1991, overseeing the entire customer journey. Mary Ann works to create long-standing, meaningful relationships with clients, partners and industry analysts, and through these relationships has gained an extensive knowledge of print and digital technologies, the challenges that businesses working with these technologies face and how the implementation of software can work so solve them.

Can you provide a brief overview of your chosen topic and why it will be of interest and relevance to Summit attendees?

Software: The Key to Adaptation looks at how workflow software can provide printers with the tools to make the best of, possibly even thrive in, the changing and challenging trading conditions we now face.

Software can be the key to a more optimized, productive and profitable print operation, but so many print service providers, or PSPs, are not maximising these benefits because they haven’t yet had to consider adaptation in this way. Plus, software need not lead to complicated training programs and be hard to install – honestly!  If you find the right solution, it enables more streamlined processes, increased print production performance and unlocks new opportunities while being totally scalable and adaptable to changing habits and a growing business.

How do you see the market developing in the next six months, and what will be your focus?

Over the next six months, the continued requirements for personalization, localization, and targeted content, mean that businesses in these markets will need solutions to onboard, manage, enhance, and then track and report on these jobs. Given these demands on printers, we are focused on providing solutions that meet these demands whilst also delivering increased workflow optimisation to underpin the future success of our customers. To demonstrate our commitment to this goal, we are offering free product trials of the Solimar Chemistry™ platform and assistance in assessing current workflows to define a desired workflow state. Solimar is inviting printers to welcome a change in how print and digital materials are managed within their organization by integrating our modular, adaptable and configurable software solutions.

Tell us more about the product and the specific market it serves.

The Solimar Chemistry™ platform is suited to print or e-communications providers that are looking for a repeatable, automated and optimised workflow. From transactional and business correspondence through to healthcare, commercial, industrial, labels, wide format, packaging, the introduction of a Solimar powered workflow enables businesses, in any market, to achieve better visibility, accessibility, and mobility through their entire operation.

What is unique about this product? How will it make a difference for customers?

The Solimar Chemistry™ platform is completely modular and scalable unlike many other offerings, meaning that print service providers can leverage the individual elements of the software that will meet their current and future demands. Solimar Systems works closely with its customers, offering a ‘walk your workflow’ service virtually, through video meetings or diagrams then works with the organisation to modularly connect and implement solutions under the Chemistry platform to create a configured and tailored solution.

Partnering with Solimar means that print and electronic delivery providers gain the ability to add and subtract software functionalities to meet their changing business needs and be responsive and responsible in terms of regulatory and legislative changes, rapidly. From an operations perspective, those same solutions can provide visibility and accountability which can help with post job reporting on estimating and costing, customer service enquiries and the overall efficiency of the current workflow within the organisation. Solimar has also strategically brought their solutions to market with a concept of no professional services required as a testament to delivering on solutions that go in quickly and achieve notable ROI.
