Summit Partner Spotlight: Roland DG

The second FuturePrint Virtual Summit will be taking place from October 12th to October 16th. Roland DG is a FuturePrint Virtual Summit Content Partner, and we caught up with the team to discuss the interior decor market, the technology they will be showing to Summit attendees and how the business will be navigating the market during the coming months.

Paul Willems, Head of Product Management and Business Development, Roland DG

Why has your business made the decision to participate in the second FuturePrint Virtual Summit?

With extensive product development is several areas, we’re keen to bring new products to the market, but we also believe it’s important to engage with the wider print community and share our findings and observations – particularly in what has been a very challenging year.

Who will be representing you at the FuturePrint Virtual Summit and what is their responsibility and experience?

Paul Willems, Head of Product Management and Business Development, Roland DG: Paul spearheads product development in the EMEA region, using insight from customers to drive collaborative innovation across the company’s product line up.

Joe Wigzell, Academy Manager Roland DG: Joe is responsible for managing the Roland DG Academy – a service created to help Roland customers get more from their devices.

Can you provide a brief overview of your chosen topic and why it will be of interest and relevance to Summit attendees?

Paul Willems will speak about interior décor applications and the role they are set to play in the custom print and textile market and will outline the features and benefits of the EJ-DECO, Roland DG’s new water-based printer for wallpaper and décor.

Joe Wigzell will provide an overview of Roland’s latest dye-sub and DTG solutions, focusing on Roland’s multi-station DTG printer, the XT-640S.

How do you see the market developing in the next six months, and what will be your focus?

After a turbulent year, predicting the next six months is largely an act of speculation, yet we have seen indications from our customers behaviour that clearly demonstrate a growing appetite for product diversity and a willingness to explore new avenues for business growth. Our aim, as ever, is to provide guidance and advice to help existing Roland users get more from their equipment, and to continue developing technology that best suits their needs.

EJ-DECO: Wide-format water-based ink printer for décor applications

XT-640s: Multi-station direct-to-garment printer

What is unique about this product? How will it make a difference for customers?

The EJ-DECO has been developed as a high-quality wide-format printing device for décor applications requiring environmentally safe output. This affordable solution is ideally placed for existing décor companies looking to add a leaner, more flexible custom-print solution, particularly for short runs.

The XT-640s is an innovative development which answers the market demand for a production-level garment-customisation solution for long and short runs. Built in a multi-station configuration, and controlled by a user-friendly software interface, setting up jobs is fast and intuitive making this an excellent rapid-personalisation device for established garment producers (eg, screen printers).
