Summit Partner Spotlight: ACTEGA Metal Print

The second FuturePrint Virtual Summit will be taking place from October 12th to October 16th. ACTEGA Metal Print is a FuturePrint Virtual Summit Content Partner, and we caught up with the team to discuss what attendees of the Summit can expect, with a particular focus on the innovative EcoLeaf technology and why it’s unique.

Why has your business made the decision to participate in the second FuturePrint Virtual Summit?

Since the popularity of webinars has grown even before the current pandemic, we believe that they are a powerful tool to demonstrate thought leadership, increase the visibility of EcoLeaf and establish new and interesting connections in the printing industry.

With this in mind, working with the Future Print Virtual Summit as a content platform, experienced partners and experts is a good opportunity for us to reach out to our target audience and to spread our EcoLeaf vision into the market.

Who will be representing you at the FuturePrint Virtual Summit and what is their responsibility and experience?

Dario Urbinati Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, who was previously OMET's Managing Director for AsiaPac and Gallus' Managing Director for South East Asia, Gallus Screeny Product Manager, with 15 years' experience in sales, business development, service and product management in the printing industry.

Can you provide a brief overview of your chosen topic and why it will be of interest and relevance to Summit attendees?

We talk about the benefits for the printing industry from using our EcoLeaf technology, such as cost savings and waste reduction. Sustainability requirements are increasing and we are providing a solution that meets the goal of reducing waste in day-to-day production jobs.

How do you see the market developing in the next six months, and what will be your focus?

We are prepared to play a part into making printing more sustainable and more digital. We are setting our focus on including all important results from the beta phase into our further development. In the upcoming months we are much ahead with application development, substrate testing and ink systems combination printing. During 2021, we plan to install our first commercial EcoLeaf Units in the European Printing Market.

Tell us more about the product and the specific market it serves.

EcoLeaf is a new category of metallization for the graphic arts. The technology aims in the area of narrow web and in the future, we will expand this segment to include folding cartons and flexible packaging. The customers range very broadly over the self-adhesive label industry. From cosmetics, spirituous and wine beverages focused ones, to big multinational ones and even small niche players. The one thing that they all have in common, is the focus on high-end embellishments in combination with strong and clear commitment for sustainability.

What is unique about this product? How will it make a difference for customers?

EcoLeaf is a sustainable and flexible solution, which can be integrated inline to all common narrow web, digital or finishing equipment platforms. EcoLeaf can therefore be used as an add-on to existing machines. By using different printing techniques, you are able to achieve different decorative effects. By printing the trigger image in flexo you achieve very fine details, when you print it in screen you can obtain a tactile effect without the need of embossing and by printing in inkjet create a seamless and variable metallization.
