Leaders Summit: HP and the Value of Digital Packaging

The FuturePrint Leaders Summit is taking place on the 23rd and 24th of March, where global leaders in print technology will offer insight, opinion and a vision for the future as the world emerges, a new market materialises, and new opportunities are revealed. David Tomer, General Manager of HP Scitex division, will be expanding on HP’s sustainability actions that were at the centre of the company’s FuturePrint Conference session and outlining HP’s vision for digital packaging.

David Tomer, General Manager, HP Scitex

David Tomer leads the corrugated post-print and Large Format Industrial businesses, and is responsible for ensuring market leadership and ascertaining business growth and profitability. With HP for more than 15 years, David has held several managerial positions in HP Indigo GSB Operations and HP Scitex. Prior to his current position, David led HP Scitex Operations.

HP’s philosophy and vision for Corrugated is simple – they want to offer converters something that is Cheaper, Faster and Better than the alternatives that are available today. The sustainable aspect will remain a key focus, with HP stating that ‘Sustainability is one of the drivers of the HP PageWide Corrugated business, with operations tightly focused on a circular economy that spans our entire value chain and beyond’, and encourages digital printers to leverage PageWide technology to promote and contribute to a circular economy and improve sustainability offering to customers.

HP’s success with PageWide continues to grow as digital printing expands its reach, with David Tomer saying that HP sees the total addressable market for digital corrugated printing growing to $5.5 billion by 2022, up from $3.5 billion, and HP has developed sheet and web presses to meet this demand, so Leaders Summit attendees can expect a high level overview of future plans.
