Day One Highlights: Innovation Takes the Stage at FuturePrint TECH 2024
The first day of the FuturePrint TECH event is wrapping up successfully, marking a solid start to this gathering at the Moeller Institute in Cambridge! Frazer Chesterman and Marcus Timson opened the event with welcome remarks, setting a positive, forward-looking tone for the day.
The morning sessions focused on the practical impacts of digital print technology. Stefan Casey from io.tt discussed how digital innovation is transforming FMCG packaging, followed by German Sacristan of Keypoint Intelligence, who shared trends & insights shaping the future of digital printing.
Nick Clements from HP Industrial Print discussed ‘The 5 Transitions Driving Print,’ defining key industry shifts and how companies can adapt. This was followed by a session from Oliver Baar of Koenig & Bauer, who spoke on the role of digital print in brand security, addressing timely issues for many attendees.
In the afternoon, Karis Copp from FuturePrint introduced speakers who shared their perspectives on leadership and applied innovation. Richard Darling from Global Inkjet Systems discussed qualities that set industry leaders apart, while Lekshmi B S from Archipelago Technology presented advancements in imaging techniques for Powerdrop technology.
The presentations ended with a fireside chat led by Elena Knight from FuturePrint, featuring Andy Hancock from Mexar, who talked about his experiences in direct-to-film (DTF) printing.
The evening is now in full swing, with attendees relaxing over a beer or two and participating in a Cabot quiz which is adding a light-hearted but competitive element. The quiz will be followed by a networking dinner, which has also been generously sponsored by Cabot.
