Agfa Appoints Industry Veteran Rafael Grande as Product & Project Installations Manager

New appointment paves the way for significant progress in single pass digital print solutions

Mortsel, Belgium – Agfa is pleased to announce the appointment of Rafael Grande as its new Product & Project Installations Manager, currently based in Madrid, Spain. With over 20 years of experience in international technical support and leadership roles, Grande joins Agfa at a very important time, to strengthen the company’s footprint in single pass digital printing, starting with the Speedset platform.

In his previous role as Global Service Director for EFI Packaging and Building Materials, Grande developed robust service organisations and led major customer-centric initiatives worldwide. His diverse background and his track record of building profitable teams, makes Rafael the ideal candidate to lead Agfa’s charge toward developing innovative single pass solutions and ensuring swift market implementation.

‘Rafael’s extensive expertise and proven leadership in single pass digital print make him the perfect fit to drive Agfa’s vision,’ says Matt Brooks, Head of Packaging at Agfa. ‘With his appointment, we aim to accelerate our roadmap for Speedset, explore new opportunities in the packaging segment—including UV technology—and ultimately deliver greater value to our customers and stakeholders.’

A key element of Grande’s role will be advancing the development of Speedset, the first of Agfa’s single pass family of products. He aims to take advantage of his international experience to streamline operations, reduce the time to market for new solutions, and strengthen the company’s long-term growth strategy.

‘You can’t do the same things and expect a different outcome,’ says Rafael Grande. ‘Identifying the real root cause of an issue—technical or otherwise—is crucial to success. By empowering our teams, proactively addressing market challenges, and focusing on customer ROI, we’ll ensure that if our customers succeed, Agfa succeeds, too.’

Grande officially began his new position on February 3, 2025. In the coming months, he will concentrate on building a highly capable team, refining processes around the Speedset platform, and driving a proactive customer approach—all while working on laying the groundwork for Agfa’s future product expansions in single pass digital printing for new market segments.
