9 months in... what now for Printed Textile?

After 9 months things are becoming normal again in the textile industry. The production is not at the levels we expected and the retail industry is struggling around Europe.

Luckily the online retail business is flourishing and sales are up across the board. But what does that mean for the textile industry.

The online returns are more frequent than before, the amount of shipping costs have exploded and the outlook for normality is still some way from the ideas we had when we recorded in the video for the Summit.

Yet near shoring of mouth protection caps and other PPM is bigger than ever, companies that where making garments are producing mouth masks, companies producing fashion like Dior, Channel, and others are making mouth masks.

So things are still very fluid , but as we discussed at the FuturePrint Virtual Summit - there are some clear trends.

It may look like or industry is changing into a mouth mask fabrication world. Fortunately, this is not the case and we will be back producing the textiles as we know them soon again.

The first signs are already there, with black Friday, Thanks Giving , Christmas and New Year sales coming we should be able to restart productions after the warehouses are empty again.

Let’s just hope this virus likes our industry. Merry Christmas
