XAAR TECHNOLOGY EMBELLISHES NILPETER’S OPEN HOUSE

Xaar’s printheads and technologies formed part of the recent launch of Nilpeter’s new North American Technology & Educational Center at the Open House at its Cincinnati Headquarters. The state-of-the-art center highlights Nilpeter’s comprehensive product portfolio, including flexo, digital, and value-added technologies. As part of this, Xaar’s printbar was integrated into Nilpeter’s FA-17, enabling digital varnish and foiling embellishment capabilities through Xaar’s unique High Laydown Technology.

Embossed label effects from Nilpeter

Industry professionals saw the digital hybrid line in operation, with live demonstrations throughout the day. A range of samples showed the exceptional quality and features available for high-build varnish and digital foiling, making it perfect for inline value-added label printing.

Xaar’s High Laydown Technology delivers very high volumes of fluid in a single pass with exact temperature control, enabling the creation of high-build inks and varnishes to deliver an extensive array of tactile effects more efficiently.

With sustainability in mind, digital embellishments, when compared to screen printing, offers shorter setup times and a higher utilisation rate, resulting in small run jobs being completed faster. In addition, the ability to jet higher volumes and viscosities of fluids improves the efficiency of print processes, reducing the need for multiple passes, delivering faster print speeds and cutting energy use and costs.

Commenting on the event, Søren Ringbo, General Manager Digital Products at Nilpeter said; “We were delighted to have Xaar’s printheads and technologies shown as part of the FA-17 at the launch of our new Technology & Educational Center.

“Digital embellishments increase product shelf-appeal with little to no extra costs for screens, plates or similar and are perfect for adding value to labels in the health, personal care, wine and spirits segments, to name a few.”
