Why is print so bad at telling a story?
OK, so I am passionate about the power of storytelling and have a vested professional interest in the global print industry. While we all know that the print industry is a creative powerhouse, why is it that so few people and businesses tell great stories?
Most (with some exceptions) of the content and delivery that I see is either functional or perfunctory. Therefore, as an industry we are underperforming when it comes to storytelling.
There may well be people out there who disagree, who may think I am not being supportive or disrespectful. Or worse still, that I do not care. This, however, is miles from the truth. It is precisely because I do care that I am raising this issue. It is an opinion that I think has some truth to it.
Anyhow, in this podcast, I enjoyed a chat with our editor at large, Karis Copp about storytelling, sustainability and the importance of getting your story straight and then committing to communicating!
If you have any comments or if you disagree and would be interested in discussing more, or indeed want to tell your story through either FuturePrint or EcoPrint then please do get in touch, it would be great to talk!
