We had the privilege of attending the prestigious IST UVDays2023 event, hosted by IST Metz. This international gathering served as a vibrant hub for the industrial community, offering a captivating showcase of the limitless possibilities of UV curing technology.
IST Metz, a true industry leader based in Nürtingen, Germany, with a global presence through their subsidiaries, has solidified their reputation as a trusted provider of UV curing solutions. IST specialise in the development, production, and distribution of cutting-edge UV curing systems across diverse industries, including printing, packaging, automotive, and electronics. Fuelled by a strong commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, IST Metz has become synonymous with excellence in the field.
What struck us most was IST Metz's unwavering dedication to knowledge sharing, transparency and quality, illustrated by the meticulous planning and execution of the event. Attendees had the opportunity to take part in a wealth of technical lectures, engaging panel discussions, and valuable interactions with industry experts. They were also able to gain firsthand insights into IST Metz's operations by participating in educational factory tours. However, the most important thing was the ability to connect with industry experts, underscoring IST Metz's commitment to collaborative partnerships.
With an impressive attendance of over 1000 visitors and a lineup of more than 35 exhibitors, UVDays2023 remains unrivalled as the world's largest in-house exhibition dedicated to UV and LED technology. Participating companies, including ink manufacturers, systems providers, and software companies, all play pivotal roles in the UV curing process, showcasing the diverse applications and advancements in the field. IST Intech, a specialist in UV LED curing and the British subsidiary of IST, made a notable impact at the show with their strong presence. According to David Johnson, the Commercial Director, their participation in the event presented a significant networking opportunity. It allowed them to connect with potential customers and foster valuable relationships within the industry. Being present at the show also provided an opportunity for IST Intech to support their parent company, showing their alignment and dedication to the overall success of IST.
In our conversation about the UVDays2023 with Tim Sterbak, the visionary CEO of IST Metz, it became evident that collaboration and transparency are deeply ingrained in his strategic vision. IST Metz is driven by a strong belief in showing the vast potential of UV technology to their customers. Despite the technology's long-standing establishment, there are still untapped processes that have yet to fully embrace its benefits. The remarkable UV Technology Campus, aptly named The AHeadQuarters, was introduced as part of the UVDays2023 event. Designed by architect Christian Metz, the grandson of IST's founder, the UV Technology Campus is an impressive area that exudes spaciousness and technological expertise. The campus follows a "flow-concept," enabling exceptional flexibility with fully mobile and roll-based machine installations. Additionally, it will act as an internal training ground, empowering IST Metz staff with comprehensive knowledge and exceptional skills, making them best-in-class.
Andreas Bosse, Head of Marketing & Emerging Markets, emphasises the profound significance of this centre for IST Metz and its customers. It serves as the epicentre where customer ideas can be transformed into reality. What sets it apart is the unique offering that no other company provides: a collaborative space where IST Metz and their customers can jointly pioneer new processes, explore innovative applications, and engage in technical deep-dive sessions.
