Ink, Innovation, Impact: Matti Technology AG's Customer-Centric Portfolio
Founded in 1995, Matti Technology AG, based in Sulgen, Switzerland, has been a dominant player in the industrial inkjet printing industry.
This Swiss company has built its reputation on the development and production of high-performance industrial inkjet printing systems and related technologies, collaborating with premier printhead and ink manufacturers to offer bespoke digital high-speed inkjet solutions to OEM and end customers across the globe.
Customer satisfaction, quality and innovation are central to Matti Technology AG's success. The company's foundation is built on a tradition of excellence and innovation, with a team of 25 experts who do not merely manufacture printers, but create complete, bespoke solutions designed for the global market. Matti’s principle, ‘From Ink to Printer’, is driven by the importance of beginning each project by understanding the application including the used substrate, followed by the selection of the right ink and the choice of an appropriate inkjet printhead, before finally developing the printer.
Matti has an ‘individualised standard’ approach to inkjet technology. This approach prominently featured in Thomas Amrein and Martin Letzner’s presentation at the recent FuturePrint TECH conference for Packaging & Labels in Valencia, Spain. Amrein and Letzner explained how Matti combines the reliability & build-speed of standardised modules with the flexibility required for specific custom solutions, which gives them the ability to cater to a substantial range of bespoke applications, from graphic arts and packaging to corrugated, hybrid printing, and print-to-object projects. The company’s partnership process, as described by Amrein and Letzner, involves a detailed exploration of client requirements; this process includes lab tests, risk assessments, and a focus on sustainability and user experience. An example mentioned during the presentation involved a custom solution for the flexible packaging industry, which shows Matti’s capability to address most specialised demands through co-engineering efforts and an ability to deliver efficient, operator-friendly, and environmentally sustainable machines.
The company has a varied portfolio of innovative products designed to address various aspects of the printing process. For example, Matti Imprinting Solutions seamlessly integrates with existing offset or flexo presses to print digital variable data such as addresses, expiry dates, track-and-trace information, etc. into preprinted documents.
The M-Tower™ incorporates mounts for inkjet heads, dryers, and sensors and is a unique high – quality digital printing tower, that can be added to existing client infrastructure to expand on existing print capabilities. It is designed to enhance the Matti Imprinting Solution and can operate flexibly, either standalone or alongside offset or flexo presses.
Other solutions include the Monojet 330, a mono printing press which can produce over 600 duplex mono printed pages per minute, and the Multi-Function Processor Lite (MFP Lite), which will work online with high-speed digital printers and finishing equipment.
Matti's expertise extends into software development, with all products driven by in-house developed software, whether at the PLC/Control level or within their fully modular DFE package. Matti also invests in drying technologies, including IR/NIR/Hot-Air dryer technology, which has been developed to ensure highly effective drying of various substrates with high energy efficiency. Consolidating all expertise in-house brings numerous advantages, such as complete compatibility across a product's components, consistency in appearance and functionality throughout the product lineup, and the capability to quickly adapt to varying customer demands.
With Matti’s ISO 9001:2015 certification and their high-quality management standards the company will no doubt continue to thrive in the global industrial inkjet printing industry.
