Leaders Summit: In Conversation with Durst’s Christoph Gamper

The FuturePrint Leaders Summit is taking place on the 23rd and 24th of March, where global leaders in print technology will offer insight, opinion and a vision for the future as the world emerges, a new market materialises, and new opportunities are revealed. Christoph Gamper has been CEO of Durst Group since 2013, and co-owner since 2018. On the second day of the event, Christoph will be in conversation with FuturePrint, and he spoke to us ahead of the session to offer some insight into Durst’s focus.

Christoph Gamper, CEO and Co-Owner, Durst Group

Christoph explains that Durst is ‘all in’ on inkjet: “We are 100% digital and our solutions are 100% inkjet. We have been putting our resources into this technology for many years, and we are convinced that it will continue to be the dominant technology in the markets mentioned above. Inkjet is moving quickly to become the reliable production technology. The focus will be on smooth and efficient processes and innovation will go from integrating head technology to process-innovation from pixel to output. Speed and productivity comes from the eco-system, including inline QC - not just from a digital press.”

He continues: “In our case, we work in different industrial fields, but let me highlight our ceramics segment. We were first movers and innovators with digital decor in ceramics and are now doing it again with digital glaze, our industrial 3D. We already have the customer base all over the world and again we are innovating a field - that's our DNA and that's why it's important for us.”

Christoph’s session at the upcoming FuturePrint Leaders Summit will offer some valuable leadership insights, but some future developments are remaining under wraps for now. Christoph says: “Right now we are developing in different directions but as you may understand as a private company (private not secretive) we won’t discuss details as long as we are in the conceptual phase. What I can tell is that we founded with a couple of other companies a new venture, which is 100% dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and one of the application fields is QC in the printing field. As I said before, the digital press is important, but the process is the key to the market.”
