FuturePrint Virtual Conference: File-Click-Print on Textile with Epson

The FuturePrint Virtual Conference, taking place 25th – 26th February, will be showcasing a range of solutions, insight and education from established print giants to cutting-edge newcomers, both of which are blazing the trail for the future of the industry. We caught up with Phil McMullin, UK Sales Manager Pro Graphics, Epson UK, to find out what we can expect from the business at the upcoming event.

Why has Epson decided to return as a FuturePrint event speaker in 2021? Phil explains: “During the pandemic events like this are critical to keep the print world connected & informed of developments & trends. Amongst the havoc there are profitable opportunities emerging and PSPs need to be on top of these quickly to avoid being left behind.”

During October’s FuturePrint Virtual Summit, Epson presented on wide-format inks, having expanded its range of ink sets to include aqueous, eco-solvent, resin, UV, dye sub, DTG and DTF. This time, Epson will be expanding on their textile offering. Phil continues: “The pandemic has accelerated the trend towards personalisation and nowhere is this more pronounced than in textiles. We will be discussing how recent advances in digital print technology from Epson enable PSPs to take profitable advantage of this trend for an investment as low as £400.

“Digital textile printing, whether it be for decor or fashion, is a growing global opportunity driven by customers demanding individuality & unique items. In the UK the impact of this, combined with Brexit and stretched logistics from the traditional supply areas of the mid & far east, has resulted in the desire to “reshore”  much production. This creates local opportunity for businesses that can quickly manufacture goods close to the point of sale.”

Textile has been a considerable focus for Epson over the last few years, with a particular interest on helping businesses take advantage of the opportunities in the sector by making entry simpler and more affordable. Phil says: “Epson has been a global leader in digital inkjet printing for decades and over the last few years has focused its considerable resources in developing a compelling textile print portfolio enabling PSPs to profit from the industry. From as little as £400 to full industrial production devices, Epson offers the full spectrum of digital textile solutions covering dye sub, DTG and direct to fabric.”

On who the session will appeal to, Phil concludes: “This session will interest any PSP looking to expand their offering and lock in all the textile branding opportunities within their existing customer base. Additionally any specialist textile printer wanting to understand how Epson’s unique technology can help them take advantage of the current trends and maximise their profitability.”
