FuturePrint Virtual Conference: Agfa on Water-Based Pigment Inks
The FuturePrint Virtual Conference, taking place 25th – 26th February, will be showcasing a range of solutions, insight and education from established print giants to cutting-edge newcomers, both of which are blazing the trail for the future of the industry. We caught up with Marc Graindourze, Business Manager Industrial inks, Agfa Graphics, to find out what conference viewers can expect from Agfa.
Agfa has participated in all FuturePrint virtual events thus far, and is returning to speak on inkjet printing for laminate production, and the role of water-based pigment inks. Marc explains: “I think Agfa is very well known in the field of UV inkjet printing. With this topic, I want to explain that we are putting a lot of focus on water based pigment ink development – we focus on industrial applications, wherein the ink performance is a key element.”
Why is Agfa an important voice on this topic? Marc continues: “Agfa has already focused for many years on this application, therefore we learned all the key elements of a digital solution, not only from the print perspective but from the full laminate perspective, including the manufacturing processes. I think that this full scope view is important for the industries as well as for the suppliers of digital printing.”
Marc concludes with why the topic and the session itself will be beneficial for a wide range of inkjet businesses: “Of course, it is interesting for the laminate producers and suppliers to this industry, but I see also value for companies involved in inkjet solutions using water-based inks, for instance the companies building the print engines, the dryers, the printhead electronics, colour management, etc because I will discuss the ink and system integration aspects into a full solution. Last but not least, it is a showcase which can bring ideas to other industries on how to implement inkjet printing into their manufacturing.”
