FuturePrint TECH Launches in Valencia with focus on Packaging

28-29 February 2024, FuturePrint TECH will be taking place for the first time in Valencia, Spain, with the objective of bringing together leading innovators in the Iberian peninsula with the rest of Europe and beyond to focus on the growing deployment of digital print technology in packaging.

The Greater Valencia Community includes Castellón de la Plana, which is Europe’s most important ceramic production centre. As inkjet technology revolutionised the ceramic industry, the Castellón Cluster of businesses also became a leader in industrial inkjet adoption and now many of these innovators are busy innovating technology for new markets with packaging being a key target.

Baseone is a state of the art event and work facility in a beautiful location waterside at Valencia Harbour

Taking place at the astonishing Base One, located on the harbourside in Valencia, the programme will comprise case studies and updates on digital inkjet technology for packaging and labels, plus talks from converters, brands and retailers.

Already, this event has proved popular with some of the world’s foremost digital print technology innovators who are joining this event in its first outing.

Evandro Matteucci, Vice President and General Manager, Packaging & Building Materials at EFI, enthuses, “With the significant success of the EFI Nozomi, there is no doubt in my mind of the importance of the packaging sector for the future with digital single-pass inkjet. The idea of an event in Valencia dedicated to digital inkjet technology for packaging makes a lot of sense and EFI is excited to be supporting the event as a partner and speaker. The Valencia region is rich in innovation for inkjet with a history in ceramics, and we are now making strong progress with packaging and we look forward to the positive impact it will have.”

Day 1 begins at 2pm and culminates with networking drinks and a walking dinner, while day 2 features a full day of content and networking. Those who are interested are also invited to pay a visit to Grupo La Plana to see the Kento Hybrid technology in action. Grupo La Plana are one of the world’s foremost corrugated converters and pioneers in digital print adoption and a chance for delegates to see digital print technology in action in a production setting.

Javier Quesada, CEO, Kento Digital Printing, concludes, “There is a lot of innovation taking place in this region of Spain and we have long needed an event to really showcase the potential of our expertise to both connect with Europe's leaders in inkjet and to reach out to prospective customers. Of course, the area is well known as Europe's leading ceramic production centre, but now our attention is focused on the next big thing, packaging. Kento Hybrid Technology is making great progress and we look forward to sharing our progress with delegates while also seeing our technology in action on March 1 while working in one of Europe's leading corrugated and folding carton converters.”
