FuturePrint Announces Next Tech Event Focused on Digital Print for Manufacturing

FuturePrint has announced more details of its next event Futureprint Tech: Digital Print for Manufacturing, which will take place 9-10 November at the iconic Møller Centre, Cambridge.

Futureprint recognises that the manufacturing sector is the most significant opportunity for digital print technology, and ‘Digital Print for Manufacturing’ will explore its prospects across this global industry. With the prospect of digitalisation now a reality, it is the time for an event for the industry to learn of the possibilities and invest in strategic technology solutions.

Speakers will include:

Joanna Stephenson of PHD Marketing, who will present ‘Market Trends in Packaging and Labels – What’s Next for 2023.’ Jo has 30 years of experience in print, packaging, and plastics, including roles as LINPAC VP of Marketing and past directorships at Sun Chemical and Dow Chemical. Her projections of what to expect in the industry next year will certainly be valuable for all. 

Paul Felton of All4Labels, one of the world’s leading label companies and a pioneer in sustainable and digital packaging solutions with a specialisation on the home and personal care as well as food and beverage markets.

John Patsavellas, a senior lecturer in manufacturing management at Cranfield University. He joined the UK’s most iconic postgraduate university following a career in the manufacturing industry spanning sectors as diverse as steel, food, paper products, pharma, fashion, building products and sanitaryware ceramics. His special expertise lies in driving optimum efficiencies by the successful integration of people in the modern industrial reality, as well as designing the future aspects of sustainable productivity in high-value manufacturing.

Patrick Poitevin of Advisory4Pack, who will present ‘Challenges To Conquer When Incorporating Your Digital Print In Line’ covering the opportunities that digital print can open up, and the respective challenges of implementation. It will be a fascinating talk for those interested in the challenges of bringing digital print in-house. 

Guy Newcombe, CEO and CTO at Archipelago Technology. Newcombe has worked in inkjet for over 30 years. In this time, he has created technology in piezo, electrostatic and continuous inkjet. Before starting Archipelago, he ran TTP's printing technology group. His talk will be on ‘How Megatrends are Creating Opportunities for Inkjet in Coatings, Packaging and Agriculture’.

Dr. Alan Hudd, who has been central to many important technology developments over the last 30 years in the field of digital and inkjet printing, with more than 250 patents to his name and recognised for many commercial industry successes. His career to date has spanned over four decades in developing new disruptive technologies, including over thirty years in commercialising industrial inkjet technology. Dr. Hudd was a key inventor of the fundamental pioneering UV cure inkjet patents that today underpin many important industrial inkjet applications.

Javier Quesada, the Co-Founder and CEO of KENTO DIGITAL PRINTING, a company that designs and manufactures printing equipment for the packaging industry. The KENTO HYBRID® printer has been awarded the Silver Best Innovation Award in 2021 for its technology combining inkjet and flexo printing for corrugated in a single line.

Quesada has 15 years’ experience in the corrugated packaging industry and has previously spoken at the events organised by FEFCO (Europe) and AICC (USA).

The event will present over 35 speakers also including Digital Print Analyst Sean Smyth, Steve Lister of HH Global, Alan Bridger of Perigon, Chris Corkran, Make UK, and many more.
