Matti’s recirculating piezo inkjet technology means CHROMOEDGE delivers precise printing at 720 dpi while consuming 25% less ink than conventional printing methods. An optional redundant inkjet system is available, so the printer is highly reliable, self-sustaining, and capable of maintaining production flow with minimal disruptions, which is crucial for industrial-scale printing operations.

Beyond raw efficiency, CHROMOEDGE offers creative flexibility. Supporting paperbacks, flap paperbacks, and hardcover book blocks, different book formats can all benefit from customised edge printing. A dual colour management system allows for separate profiles for the short and long edges, compensating for variations in fibre direction and keeping the colour application rich and accurate.

Using high-pigment aqueous inks, the system produces sharp, vibrant edges that elevate the perceived value of books. For added speed and durability, an optional infrared drying system rapidly dries ink, increasing production times without quality compromises.
