Advancing Colour Management and Proofing Solutions: An Interview with Stefan Höfs by FuturePrint

In today's visually driven world, businesses face a critical challenge of maintaining colour consistency across various print processes. FuturePrint recently had the privilege of chatting to Stefan Höfs, the Business Development Manager at CGS ORIS, a leading provider of colour management and proofing solutions within the pre-press packaging and now textured surface proofing markets.

Within the textured surface proofing market, CGS has formed a highly successful partnership with Metis, renowned producers of surface scanners. These surface scanners serve as the starting point for developing new surface types, such as wood, based on actual materials. By scanning the item, the CGS Oris Software can capture the colour map of a surface, along with its texture and glossiness and reproduce the surface with a digital printing process.

Recognising the significance of consistent and vibrant colour reproduction in packaging, commercial printing, and large-format displays, CGS ORIS empowers its customers to achieve stunning results while meeting the demanding requirements of the print industry today. Through their innovative software solutions and cutting-edge media options, CGS ORIS equips businesses with the tools they need to succeed.

To demonstrate the capabilities of their solutions, we FuturePrint took a few short videos to help showcase the Surface Scanner in action and the resulting images in CGS’ advanced colour management software tool. Stefan also briefly introduces an application that supports the development process of new decor printing projects for brand owners and designers. This application enables users to visualise the final product, produced with a digital printer, while accurately representing the colours and textures.
