Episode 73 - Inkjet Opportunities and Trends in the US Label and Packaging Markets, with Tom Molamphy, Siegwerk

In this episode, Tom Molamphy who is based in Portland, Oregon speaks to Frazer about the inkjet developments he saw at the recent Label Expo event, the different applications for UV- and water-based inks and some of the key areas American printers are making investments in.

Tom Molamphy is the Sales & Technology Manager North America for Inkjet Inks at Siegwerk. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in manufacturing engineering and has over 30 years of experience in engineering, management, sales and business development in the electronic materials, UV curable materials and UV equipment markets. This includes pioneering work at Phoseon Technology where he led the sales and marketing effort in the adoption of UV-LED curing in several markets, most notably UV inkjet printing. He joined Siegwerk in 2018 to manage the Inkjet ink business for North America. Making him the perfect guest to chat to all about digital and inkjet printing.

Regardless of uncertainty in many markets, Tom sees digital print continuing to grow both in the US and around the globe. It is clear that the affordability and price to product ratio of digital format printing means investment is being made into more digital technology. Tom explains more about this continued growth.
