Episode 78 - Female Entrepreneurship, Evocative Print, and Being a ‘Branding Boss’ with Jill Geens

In this episode of the FuturePrint Podcast, Karis Copp speaks to Jill Geens, owner of In.Druk. Jill talks about being an ‘accidental creative’ after feeling out of place on a scientific education path and going on to pursue art. When passion for her design roles waned, she took the decision to be her own boss, and a journey into print began.

In.Druk focuses on working with female entrepreneurs. Why is that? For Jill, she feels it’s a natural way of working, with women valuing her experience more than men. Jill shares insights into why this might be; far from being an aversion to working with male clients, her observations shed light on different operational styles between men and women.

Jill elaborates on the work she does with and for women in print and related creative industries, and how the community of women around her and a focus on mentorship, shared experiences and continued education is so crucial to thriving as successful women.

As a ‘brand boss’, Jill explains how important print is to the overall branding piece, and offers insight into Gen Z’s relationship with tangible print and packaging mixed with technology and the digital experience, as well as the emotion that quality print and packaging can evoke.
